The Button Lady

Sorry I haven't posted in a while!  We have been very busy with craft shows and NASTY weather here.  All is well in Stefiworld though!

Since I couldn't sew during the storm outbreak I moved on to another project!  BUTTON RINGS!

I have TONS AND TONS of buttons so I thought I would do something useful with them.  I finally found some adjustable ring blanks on etsy.com.   Then I went to town on them!

Here are some pics.

In the box I made for them.

I have more to do but I am waiting on more ring blanks because I only received half my order. they should be in this week, hope I will have time to "whip up" the rest before the Memphis Flea market This weekend on Mothers Day,   Hope to see some of you there! We have new booty bags! and some new dog products!  Cool Pups, Hats, Doggy Doo-Rags, and new Puppy pouches!

HAWG FEVAH

You can also use skorts and shorts for booty bags!
Here is my latest.

It was a little girls skort (skirt and shorts together). so I didnt have to line it, I just added an inside pocket with a snap closure.

Been practicing on my applique. I think I have finally got the hang of it!

I am kind of partial to a over the shoulder strap, so thats what I used again.

Just a little update.

So as ALWAYS "she who dies with the most yarn and fabric ( and booty bags!!!) WINS!!!!"

MY NEWEST CRAZE..........BOOTY BAGS!

Alright, my latest craze, addiction, mania, kick or whatever you wanna call it is making Booty Bags!
Do you remember those bags everyone had in the 70's? You know the ones made out of old jeans? Yep, that's what I am making now. I had made a few last year but I suddenly had an epiphany about how to do them BETTER! (I am working on a tutorial as well, stay tuned for that)  In my bag making I like to recycle or "upcycle" old clothing so this was logically the next step. (As if I do much LOGICALLY) lol.

I hit my favorite resale store the other day and they were having a bag sale (you know the one where you fill up a bag of clothes for one price) so I stocked up! I really found some cool pants to turn into booty bags.

I started with a pair of American Eagle capris.
The bag has an over the shoulder strap, A"belt" that
matches the inside, A flap closure that utilizes the fly button.
A "secret" cell phone/ keys pocket in the zipper of the fly.

Six inside pockets made out of the outside fabric.

I left the front pockets usable as well as the
back buttoned pocket.

Then I decided to make one a Razorback Booty Bag (our state Collegiate mascot). I had found the cutest pair of black and white checkered pants. (If you don't know me well enough by now, My favorite colors are black, white and red together) So this so far is my favorite. At our house we are BIG Razorback fans. So it may be hard to let go of but I will always make more.  LOL.

It has all the same pockets and strap as the first booty bag.

I finally learned how to make my super cool new sewing machine
do applique!. Now look out! Most will probably have contrasting fabric
appliques on them. lol
UPDATE! newest addition to my booty bags! I decided to put the "BLING" in this one! (It didnt hurt that this pair of jeans was already blinged a bit.)

yes, the fly has a secret pocket as well.

a close up of the inside fabric, front applique, and the "hiney".

The finished front.

I should be busy for a while! I have about 15 more in the works. YES I have gone booty bag bonkers! LOL
Keep an eye out for a tutorial at a later date!

Update on the Mother of ALL Granny Squares Afghan! (MOAGS)

Here is an update! the MOAGS afghan is almost complete! Only a few rows to go, but I have to go find matching light orange yarn to finish that row then 4 more rows and it will be DONE! MY FIRST AFGHAN!
What a sense of accomplishment this has given me! I have really enjoyed making it.  As You will notice The Princess is claiming it as her's. I had NO MORE gotten laid out pretty on the couch, grabbed my camera, turned around as there she was just as pretty as You please, smack dab in the middle of it.. It is already warming up here in Arkansas so by the time I finish it I may not need it. But who knows I am very cold natured as it is.
After I went shopping for yarn to match it I found this when I got home. TWO KITTIES claiming the afghan!!!
Pyxzee says HEY! what are You guys doing on my blankie???

So as always "She who dies with the most yarn and fabric wins!!!"

Made With LOVE!

I love things Made with Love, I feel if it isn't made with Love why make it? Things just go together better if they are done with Love. I have noticed if I end up "hating" a project it takes me a lot longer to make. So I try and keep an open mind and make everything with Love, from sewing to crochet, baking to cooking it ALL has to have Love mixed in.  As most of You know I am an avid dragonfly collector. Aside from those beautiful bugs I love all thing RED! That usually ends up (for me) to being something heart shaped as well, not always but lots of time it does. So I decided to share some of favorite heart things with you!
Keep in mind this isn't all of my collection just a highlight. LOL.

This is a cookbook holder i found at Civitan last week AFTER its make over! You cant see the heart in this pic, but there is a heart at the top. and of course it is RED! I love it because it had weights on a chain on each side that holds my cookbook open to the right page, keeps it up and out of the way. ( and there for CLEAN and DRY)

Before its makeover.

After without the cookbook.

It works great. I keep it hanging up above my cabinets till I need it,

This is my new measuring spoon set,I am not sure whether it is silver or not but it very heavy.  It has hearts inside each spoon. And on the back of each it has Made with Love!

A measuring set of cup and teaspoon portions.
Target this Valentines! (ok yes I LOVE Target too!)

Espresso  cup and saucers. The handles of the cups are hearts and then the saucers are hearts as well. Note the holder has the heart shape in it too!

Mini heart silicone pan. My sister Susu bought for me. Think I can make some cute petite fours with it.
Target this Valentines.

A smaller ceramic heart shaped tart pan and spatula with hearts on it.

Tiny RED glass heart dish, I just have it by my sink with these little heart soaps and heart gem.
